PetroChina Debuts on Mainland Bourse
The picture taken on November 5, 2007 shows Jiang Jiemin (L), Chairman of the Board of Directors and President of PetroChina Company Limited, receives interviews at the launch ceremony of the shares opened in the mainland A share market. The shares opened at 48.6 yuan, up 191 percent from their IPO price of 16.7 yuan. The price made PetroChina, China's largest oil and gas producer, the world's largest listed company by market capitalization. PetroChina raised 66.8 billion yuan ($8.9 billion) in Shanghai by selling 4 billion A shares, or 2.18 percent of its expanded share capital, in the world's biggest initial public offer (IPO) this year. PetroChina is already listed in Hong Kong and the United States. (Xinhua)
