Japanese PM Announces Resignation
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announces his resignation at the press conference held in Tokyo, September 12, 2007. Abe, whose year-old government has suffered a string of damaging scandals and a humiliating electoral defeat, did not announce a date for his departure from office.
