More Small Thermal Power Plants Closed
A cooling tower at the Datang Weihe Power Company is imploded in Xianyang, Northwest China's Shaanxi Province, August 15, 2007. In an effort to save energy and better protect the environment, China has shut down small thermal power plants with an installed capacity totaling 6.95 million kw in the first half of the year, completing about 70 percent of this year's pre-set goal.
