Bridge Collapses in Central China's Hunan Province
At least 22 people died with 44 others missing after a bridge collapsed in central China's Hunan Province on August 13, 2007. The bridge, which was under construction and scheduled for completion this month in Fenghuang County, collapsed at 4:40 PM, blocking the Fenghuang-Daxing highway. Of the 57 survivors, 22 were injured in the collapse and have been rushed to nearby hospitals, according to the local rescue headquarters. (Xinhua)
