TGV First Commercial Service | Passengers arrive in Paris, June 10, 2007, to take the new eastern high-speed train's TGV first commercial service between Paris to Sarrebruck via Strasbourg, 24 hours after its inauguration. Trains from French state-owned rail company SNCF and German one DB e (TGV) share this new eastern line from Paris to Sarrebruck, slashing travel times and opening up Germany to France's TGV network. It was on this line that the TGV broke its own world speed record in April, hurtling into the history books at 574.8 km (357.2 miles) per hour. "ICE" is the name of the German TGV. (Xinhua/AFP) |
