Protest Against the Visit of Bush
Sao Paulo riot police agents try to arrest a demonstrator during a march to protest against the visit of US President George Bush, March 8, 2007, in the main avenue of Sao Paulo, Brazil's economic capital. Bush left Thursday for a tour of Latin America and a week of meetings aimed at promoting democracy and free trade. The US President will also work to convince his regional counterparts to reject what his administration calls the "false promises" of leftist leaders, such as Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, who advocate an alternative world vision. Bush will make his first stop in Brazil before heading to Uruguay, Colombia, Guatemala and Mexico. (Xinhua/AFP)
