New Energy Policy for Europe
The European Commission launched a motivation of the new energy policy for Europe (EPE) on January 11 in Brussels, Belgium. The EPE blueprint mentions some specific targets: establishing a real single market for electricity and gas by mid-2007; boosting renewable energy use by 15 percent and biofuel use by 8 percent by 2015 and using 20 percent less energy overall by 2020.
