By DONG WEIJUN

The awards ceremony for the 1997 Tak Man Prize, given to Beijing-based disabled people for their achievements in self-study, was held in the Great Hall of the People recently. With a donation from Andy Changgeng Fu, president of the Hong Kongbased Tak Man Group Co. Ltd., the China Federation for the Disabled Persons set up the Tak Man Prize, based on the Tak Man Education Fund for the Disabled, to encourage disabled persons to make unremitting efforts to improve themselves through hard study.

The prize winners this year were: Wu Jinbin, Qi Kaili, Wang Yan, Li Xiaomin, Liu Zheng, Zhi Nan, Li Yi and Huang Shan.
