In 1926, even though China was experiencing a difficult period in its development, it still participated in the Sesqui-Centennial International Exposition in Philadelphia, the United States.
At this Expo, China displayed traditional goods as well as some modern products, including electrical appliances, makeup, and steel. The monosodium glutamate produced by the Shanghai Tien Chu Monosodium Glutamate Factory was awarded a gold prize at the Expo. |
