In 1900, China, as a participant, attended the Exposition Universelle et Internationale de Paris 1900.

The China Pavilion was made up of five parts representing the Great Wall, the Confucian Temple, and other famous Chinese sites. Ivory, china, textiles, teas, and other crafts and crops were exhibited at the Expo.
