In 1876, the Philadelphia Expo was held in the United States. China sent a delegation led by a government official, Li Gui, to participate in the Expo. After the Philadelphia Expo, the organizing committee allowed countries to set up independent exhibition pavilions to gradually replace the original theme pavilions.
