With just a year to go before the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, preparations have entered a fast track. The construction of all competition venues is complete, and ice making and other preparatory work has started.

Over 100 events in seven winter sports categories will be held in three competition zones from February 4 to 10, 2022. These zones are in central Beijing; Yanqing, a district on the outskirts of the capital that is home to a section of the Great Wall; and Zhangjiakou, the city in Hebei Province neighboring Beijing that is the co-host of Beijing 2022.

All non-competition venues will be constructed or renovated before July 2021, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Beijing will host all the ice events and share the snow events with Chongli District, a popular skiing destination in Zhangjiakou.
