Against a global backdrop of growing uncertainty, shifting geopolitical dynamics, trade disruptions and financial instability, recent high-level forums signaled China's commitment to providing certainty and stability in a tumultuous world, as well as its intention to create new opportunities for global economic development.

The China Development Forum 2025 took place in Beijing on March 23-24, with the theme Unleashing Development Momentum for Stable Growth of the Global Economy.

Following this, the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025 was held in Boao, Hainan Province, from March 25 to 28, centered on the theme Asia in the Changing World: Toward a Shared Future.

This year China has once again set a GDP growth target of around 5 percent. The Chinese Government has responded by expanding fiscal expenditure, stimulating consumption and implementing measures to boost economic growth.

The digital, AI and robotics industries are thriving, positioning the country as a global leader in sectors such as new energy and digital technologies. By expanding exports to emerging economies and promoting the Belt and Road Initiative, which aims to boost connectivity along and beyond the ancient Silk Road routes, China is contributing to the steady growth of the global economy.

Given that the nation remains the world's largest exporter and the second largest importer of goods, and considering its improving economic conditions, it is anticipated that China will continue to drive global economic growth in 2025 and beyond.

The Chinese Government has implemented measures to encourage foreign investors to increase their reinvestment in China and to ensure national treatment for foreign-funded enterprises in areas including access to production factors, license applications, standards setting and government procurement.

This demonstrates the country's commitment to promoting high-level openness. By collaborating with other countries to cultivate advanced productive capabilities, China aims to enhance development momentum, promote stable global economic growth, and improve overall human wellbeing.

No country can achieve lasting prosperity in isolation. In times of uncertainty, we need more cooperation, not less, as a response to global challenges. BR
