Young People's Health Anxiety
  ·  2019-11-04  ·   Source: NO. 45 NOVEMBER 7, 2019

More and more young people in China, especially the post-90s, are buying healthcare products. The post-90s' anxiety about their health has raised quite a few eyebrows. However, it's one's personal choice to buy healthcare products and as health is very important, it's not surprising that young people want to stay healthy by taking healthcare products.

However, it should be noted that the healthcare market is underdeveloped in China and some products may even harm one's health. Therefore one should not be duped into buying healthcare products from unethical sellers.

The reasons young people fall in love with healthcare products are complicated. One reason is that they have stronger consciousness and care more about their health than the previous generations.

It's also a result of pressure. Many young people suffer great pressure from work and have to work overtime very often. Many healthcare products producers have tapped into their anxiety about the negative impact pressure might have on their health and hired youth idols to endorse their products to hook young consumers.

Healthcare products are not medicines and they are not the right way to keep healthy. The best way to stay fit is to adopt a healthy way of life with a balanced diet, regular exercises, no smoking, moderate drinking and going to bed early.

In addition, to address young people's concern about health problems resulting from overwork, laws and regulations on labor right protection should be improved to guarantee employees' rights and interests.
