The Shenzhou-11 mission is announced a success
Edited by Li Nan | Web Exclusive

Commander-in-chief of China's manned space program Zhang Youxia announced that the Shenzhou-11 mission was successful on November 18.

The two astronauts of the Shenzhou-11 space mission opened the return capsule's hatch and are reported by the ground team to be in good condition.

The return capsule of the Shenzhou-11 spacecraft was spotted in the main landing area in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region at 2:07 p.m. on November 18.

Tiangong-2 will remain in orbit and remote experiments will continue until it docks with Tianzhou-1, China's first cargo spacecraft, which is set to be launched in April 2017.
