COVER STORY   

Belt and Road Lifts Off looks at the international cooperation based on the Belt and Road Initiative in five years. Strides have been made despite challenges. The initiative, which aims to promote a world of common globalization, is delivering benefits to local people, expanding economic cooperation and healthy development.

Deeper Pockets looks at the benefits to be derived from recent amendments to the China’s individual income tax law. A higher minimum threshold will benefit those with lower incomes and decrease tax burdens on those above the threshold. For the first time, deductions for special expenses such as education and serious medical expenses will be allowed.

TCM techniques are affordable and beneficial, and complement modern medical treatment. It benefits both doctors and patients, especially in less economically advanced regions.
