Chinese vice premier calls for joint efforts to advance global green transition

Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang on Thursday said that China stands ready to work with all parties to advance global green development and promote the development of a clean, beautiful world.

Ding, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the chairperson of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED), made the remarks while addressing the 2025 annual general meeting of the CCICED in Beijing.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), China has been working to improve its ecological environment and has made significant progress in building a beautiful China, Ding said.

He noted that China has also reinforced its leading role in global ecological governance over the past five years.

China will remain steadfast in pursuing green and low-carbon development, and promoting green productivity in accordance with local conditions, the vice premier said.

He also emphasized the importance of upholding multilateralism, enhancing dialogue and exchange, and coordinating environmental protection with economic development.

China is committed to contributing more wisdom and strength to the development of its ecological civilization, and to advancing global sustainable development.
