Rescue Operation
Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang (left) visits the Luotuoshan Coal Mine in Wuhai, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, to monitor the rescue operation, on March 1. Rescuers are working all-out to drain water from the flooded coal mine, hoping to lift 31 people out of the pit. An initial investigation showed 77 miners were digging tunnels at different depths as part of an infrastructure construction project and 46 were lifted to the ground as of Monday (XINHUA)
