Can A Judge Rule on A Civil Case on the Basis of Personal Analysis?
Comments on the story " Do Good Samaritans Face A Backlash? " published in No.42 October 8, 2007

Judges, like other government officials or politicians, are human beings, and are vulnerable to bias. These biases are often the result of past experience and work, at home or abroad, and they are quite unavoidable. The essentials for making a judgment are certain criteria or rules to guide them. In a country with such a large population, time-consuming court cases may not be cost effective. To facilitate such a process, the judges should be able to review the rules quickly in court, and this may need some data retrieval and analytical systems. I am not saying that a computer will make the verdict, but these systems can help the judges.
